Mike Longo plays with the great Joe Venuti circa early 70s.

Although the sound quality is not great, I thought some of you might enjoy this. It is from a gig I did with the great Joe Venuti circa early 70s.  It is an example of how jazz musicians can play together even if they are from different styles and genres. Joe Venuti came up on the Paul Witeman band in the 30s and I was from the Be Bop school. The bass player is Major Holly, more from the Swing era and the drummer is Dottie Dodgeon ,more of a bebopper. a trombone player is sitting in by the name of Spigal Wilcox who was a Dixielander. He plays a couple of choruses right before the piano solo. This is from the Town Tavern in Toronto Canada. I just had a small tape machine sitting on the piano. For those of you not familiar with Joe Venuti, this is a testament to his greatness. He was 82 here.
